The latest video game consoles and games

Sometimes it is hard to engage children with regular board games and puzzles. This is especially true when their friends are playing with video games. Video games can add an extra element of fun, letting children compete and play in a different way. There are many types of games and consoles available.

Video Game Consoles

A video game console is an interactive computer or other piece of electronic equipment that produces a video display signal that is used with a television or monitor to display a video game. It is different from a personal computer.

Video Game Systems

One of the newest and most popular game systems is Nintendo Wii. It is different from some of the other systems in a few ways. It still allows you to play video games that are available on other systems, but it also allows you to be physical and interactive. You can play a variety of sports, either with an opponent or by yourself, using a Mii (a virtual image of yourself that you create). As you move the remote, you are moving a tennis racquet, or baseball bat. The Wii gets a signal from the remote, and tells you if your serve was out or if you hit a home run.

In addition to being able to play games, the PlayStation console is able to read and play audio CDs. This function, as well as a memory card manager, can be accessed by starting the console without inserting a game. If a game is put in the system at any time on the menu, the game will immediately start.
