Educational Electric Toys

Have fun and learn something

Many toys have educational elements to them, but some companies are now coming out with toys that are primarily educational toys. A fun idea or favorite cartoon or television character usually offers a recognition point that make children want to use it.

Toys and Education

Toys and education seem to be a natural match. For the first several years of a child’s life, toys are used as the primary tool for learning new things. Toys offer opportunities for children to learn their colors and numbers, and to build their creativity and confidence.

Educational learning toys have advanced a lot in the past several years. They have gone from flash cards with pictures on them to check for letter and number knowledge, to educational CD-ROMs with games and activities to encourage children to develop better reading habits. They incorporate music and fun graphics, and assist children in developing computer skills that they will need in the future.

Electronic Educational Toys

Electronic educational toys include a huge number of small laptop computers geared towards children. They come with Barbie, Hot Wheels, and Superman themes, to name a few. They offer specific games and tasks for children to learn, but still have elements of fun. For example, the Superman computer plays the Superman theme when it starts up, and calls all of its games “missions.” When the game is finished, the message “mission accomplished” is shown. The games come in different levels, from beginner math and shape recognition, to more complex multiplication and word games.

One company that has been at the forefront of educational toys is Fisher Price. Fisher Price educational toys include toys for babies, infants, toddlers and young children. Many of the Fisher Price toys for young children are musical. These include “I can play guitar” and “I can play piano.” These are made for kid sized hands and have built-in software that plays music and shows color coded sequences on the television screen for them to follow. Many of the Fisher Price educational toys offer themes based on favorite cartoon characters such as Sponge Bob Square Pants and the Backyardigans Sing Along Music Maker.
